I'm Jarred Haynes, principal consultant of Field & Flow LLC, based in Portland, Maine. My work bridges community wisdom with institutional readiness — guiding Tribal, nonprofit, and rural organizations through funding strategy, climate planning, and community development.

I bring a people-first approach to every project, meeting stakeholders where they are and designing processes grounded in close observation, active listening, and deep respect for place. Strategy means little without concrete action — and action begins with understanding who will drive change and how.

My academic background in sustainable development, combined with graduate fieldwork across four continents and active consulting experience with Alaska Native Tribal communities, informs an approach that is as analytically rigorous as it is community-centered.

Philosophy

"My mission is to design thoughtful solutions that are as sustainable as they are actionable."

01

Listen First

Every project begins with close observation and active listening — not assumptions.

02

Respect Place

Solutions are tailored to their context — cultural, ecological, and institutional.

03

Drive Action

Strategy without implementation is just planning. The goal is concrete, measurable change.

04

Build Capacity

Outcomes that outlast the project — through skills transfer, systems, and community ownership.
